Hand wired in Commerce, California

An amp is judged by how it answers your hands.

Not by how it measures on a bench. Joe Morgan has been building, modifying and repairing amplifiers since 1996, and every Morgan is still wired by hand, one at a time, with transformers chosen for one reason: what they do to the sound.

The bench

History and technology, at the intersection.

Joe will be the first to tell you that tube amps are not rocket science. He was on the engineering team that developed the first GPS satellites, so he is in a position to know.

Tube amps are only as good as their components, and Morgan chooses the best of the best: custom designed transformers, void-less Baltic birch, hand wiring that is meant to outlast the person who bought it. Read the story →
